Another Monday morning
Mar. 8th, 2004 08:41 amNot so bad, this one.
I was up earlier than usual because I had parked Christy into the driveway, but that worked out fine, because there was a special order for tea bread at work that I had to make, so going in early just helped get that done. Tea bread doesn't take long to mix, but it bakes for more than an hour, so if I started it at the end of my shift, I'd have to trust someone else to pull it out of the oven. Chelsea could do it, but she wouldn't need the extra work.
It was the cranberry nut tea bread, too, one of the recipes I'd brought into the store myself. That was nice.
Between that, and replenishing the scones and the brioche dough, and checking in the Monday delivery, I was there for an extra hour.
The extra hour of my pay is about equal to what we charge for a single loaf of tea bread. Funny how that works.
(I made four, so if we sell some slices and/or the extra whole loaf, it's a net win for the boss, I guess.)
I have to take a shower, and check the bank balance to see if I can go pick up my repaired vacuum. I should do some laundry, and some general cleaning. I should also work on at least one of the three scenes left in the first half of the story
eternaleponine and I have going, and maybe take a crack at "Harry, Prince of Hogwarts." I definitely have to roast the chicken for dinner, so if it's not well defrosted by noon, I need to put it in a pot of water to speed it up.
And it's not even 9 AM yet. Go me.
