More fun with Pandora
Feb. 10th, 2006 11:07 pmI deleted the first attempt at a Kinks-based station and tried again.
The Kinks
The Who
Desmond Dekker
The Animals
The Hollies
and then I waited, thumbs-up and thumbs-down as the songs arrived. Too-sappy Hollies songs got thumbs-down. I learned not to thumbs-up too much classic ska or it would give me eight in a row and not switch back until it got a thumbs-down. The Animals proved a trickier choice -- I gave thumbs-up to the bluesier ones, and thumbs-down to the overly-psychedelic stuff, although other artists that had that fuzzed-all-to-hell psychedelic sound got thumbs-up.
As I had hoped and expected, within an hour and a half, it was offering me the Soft Boys and Patti Smith.
hey_disco_joe, if you have suggestions for other attempts in reproducing musical evolution with this toy, let me know!
