Okay. So I saw Revenge of the Sith. NOT on opening night, but with a big ol' ten-person gaming group on Saturday afternoon, with dinner afterwards, expensed to George Lucas even, because the gaming group did some development work for him.

And let me just say, almost NONE of that movie was our damn fault. No lines put in to tweak our GM, unlike in AotC. The sprawled fallen Wookiee was probably meant as the tribute to Andrew, and I suppose that I could claim a Jedi who died in a snub during Order 66 as mimicking Tetsuko's death in our project, and the one youngling running amok with a saber was reminiscent of one of our NPCs, but.... really, there wasn't a lot of our signature on it. Nothing NEARLY as ours as the library was.

Which is really just as well.

I rather liked the Padme-as-drowned-Ophelia tableau at the end. I like art history references. Very pretty. Can anyone tell me if those were jasmine flowers or orange blossoms?

Also, although I know it would have entirely wrecked the continuity for the existing movies, I am having a very hard time buying that Obi-Wan just LEFT Anakin there with his legs amputated and lava burns all over his body and yet still alive and suffering. Where was the mercy stroke? Huh? Where?

Okay, so my Jedi is really, really samurai. I admit this.

We all want external hyperdrive rings for our snubs, though. Those are GOOD.

It's very interesting to realize that the Healing and Life Energy Channel Force disciplines we use in our game are now canonically considered dark side disciplines. Also, it is our interpertation that that couldn't have been straight Force-lightning that Palpatine was using against Mace Windu, but had to be Life Energy Channel focused outward as a weapon, to result in that monkey-butt effect.
My comment was, "dude, he's burning a shitload of blood points." Yeah. Different system. So what?

In game news, an important safety tip: do not touch random ominous spray-painted messages, as the paint may well prove to be poison. If you ARE that dumb, try to make your saving throw. Having your not-boyfriend save you over a mind-link is embarrassing.

In RL news, we took Christy's car to Boston, and it died on 128 in Burlington... ick, ick, ick. And I thought her car was in the best shape of all three, being low mileage and all. Nope. It acted as if a timing chain let go. A mechanic said warped camshaft. Fixing it may cost about the blue book value of the car. He won't charge us for storage until Christy gets back from her vacation and decides what to do about it, anwyay.

I hope she decides to get a Mini Cooper.

And I continued an unbroken 13-year record of being on my period every single gaming weekend at Tia's, excepting only the duration of my pregnancy. Which might have technically been Scott's Amber game instead...

And it's almost Memorial Day weekend, folks. Can we get some SUN please?

Tired, tired, tired. At least there was a paycheck to deposit on Monday. Go me!
