my knees hurt

I am going to have to start taking fish oil or glucosamine or something, because it's not funny having my knees feel this creaky when I didn't even dance that much last night. Stupid wear and tear.

There really WAS six hours' worth of work today. Better than yesterday's, what, three and a half. And I managed to get to the romaine lettuce before my iPod ran out of battery, so I wasn't stuck listening to the hum of the beer blaster, which always makes me crazy.

I probably shouldn't get used to putting heavy cream in my coffee, but it's so easy just to grab the quart of cream from the lowboy and splash some in. And it's so tasty.

If I don't find my phone by Tuesday, I'm just going to go get the least expensive with-renewal thing I can get at T-Mobile, because it's been two years since my last one. I was perfectly happy with it, and I do still want the camera function, but if I can't FIND it, well, I need a phone.

I may also bite the bullet and get a damn Facebook account. I'll still blog HERE, but it looks like I'm missing too many announcements not having one. I have no intention of sending people apps or playing Mafia Wars or doing any of THAT crap, but I may post Drunk Pictures of myself. Mind you, my Drunk Pictures don't look anything like the common idea of those, because I'm not passed out, covered in Sharpie, or half naked; generally, if someone takes a picture of me when I'm drunk, I am in very dressy clothes, smiling broadly, and my face is flushed. Glass in hand optional.

That's about it here.

*waves!*

Boost has an all you can text/talk/web deal going on for $50 per month. Yes, prepaid, but at least you know how much you're shelling out. No surprise fees.

I have a family plan for me & the kid, which costs about $100/month with the unlimited texting add-on, and 700 shared minutes which is more than we ever use, so I might as well stick with what I have, especially since most of the people I would call are ALSO on T-Mobile, and there's free T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile, so... yeah. Same same.

Ooooh, watch out for the crack that is Facebook. I caved, and am now addicted to Farmville. Thankfully, that's about my only major timewaster there. I refuse to use it for social networking though, and should start keeping track of the people from high school who are now trying to friend me (And I am ignoring, since I don't give a fuck.)

At least based on the "web discount" prices they're showing me without being logged in (presumably for new customers + 2 year commitment, though I expect at least some of them are also available as freebies if you renew your commitment) there are something like 19 options for "free" phones you could get from T-Mobile.

Something should have the features you want in that long a list.

I have long felt that I am one of few people who uses Facebook for what it was arguably originally intended for -- networking. And pictures. I do not approve of 99% of the applications out there, and I on occasion make very grumpy status posts about being subjected to three hundred quiz results over the course of two days from a hundred and eighty two different people. It has drawbacks, yes, but I do love Facebook -- I love that I feel like it keeps me connected with people who otherwise would all too easily fall out of my life. If you can keep it under control and not give into all the stupid time wastey, TMI, gratuitous absolutely pointless nonsense, I would advise it. It's not all bad over there.

And I too do not "blog" on Facebook. I also prefer to keep my Twittering, LiveJournaling, and Facebooking as separate as possible.

I see you've joined.

I'm much happier with Facebook now that I've figured out that if I over my cursor over the top right corner of someone's quiz/game/... app, I can tell FB to hide it. So now I can happily ignore the announcements that my friend just scored a seven-letter word in their puzzle game.

BTW, there's now an FTP FB group, in addition to the FTP-alum mailing list.

Read your post and friended you immediately and see you've accepted the request.

One easy thing you can do to dramatically reduce your notifications of people's quizzes, etc. is on the "Home Page" click on "Status Updates" to the left side and drag it to the top of the list. You'll get a feed of only your friends "Status Updates". Nobody means to send you all the crap, it's just a side effect. You may want to click on "photos" (But not drag it up.) every few days/once a week so you can see who's posted new photos of their cute kids.

As for the time wasting, well, I pretty much limit myself to break times at work and when I'm sitting on the sofa watching TV and have the laptop open anyway.

But, you should play Lexulous with me--Scrabble--by any other name. ;-)

Works for me.

As a matter of fact, there's a Drunk Picture of me on there now. Ballgown with purple skirt. [livejournal.com profile] brute_force kept buying the whiskey sours and I lost count.

Sounds like you photograph better drunk than me...not that any of those things have happened to me. I just look stupid, headbanging or something like that. Perhaps I should just go to fewer metal parties. ;)

See, you have just hit the difference between metal chicks and Goth chicks. *points to icon* I'm not drunk there, but the only reason I'd be able to tell (apart from remembering that Dani took the photo at the beginning of the night, before I'd had a drink) is that my alcohol face-flush hasn't broken through the foundation makeup yet! The makeup's my normal skin tone, btw, NOT clown-white. It just bounces more camera flash than not-made-up skin.

ETA: My default icon, with the hat? Okay, not drunk, but indeed, I was slightly tipsy when the picture was taken.
