rikibeth: (I pinch)
rikibeth ([personal profile] rikibeth) wrote2008-09-11 10:10 pm

you all write a lot, you know that?

I go away for one day, overnight, and spend the next day running errands and not checking LJ (because I forgot an ethernet cord for the laptop) and my pants are bankrupt to the tune of skip=300?

This may be nature's way of telling me to do a friendslist cut, but I LIKE reading all y'all.

I am trying to catch up, but if you think I missed something important, please point me to it in comments.

Read Me!

I posted after your latest, so you'll probably see it, but don't skip it. It's rough but I needed to get it out there...

I apologize in advance for posting like 300 entries of my own. You can skip them f you like. Most tend to be trio/school related. The only one i request you read is my latest involving the WM3 news and stuff.

Well, I just scrolled over a WHOLE PAGE of OverheardInNY Wednesday One-Liners, so I'm hoping other things will be similarly skimmable, so I can read posts from actual PEOPLE like you.

When I get stuck behind like that, I will go through and scan everyhting but not click on any cuts or links. If I have time later and it stuck in my head enough that I want to go back and look at a link, I do. But usually I just scan through often just reading the subject lines, and see if there is anything I want to or need to read.

I don't think I posted anything at all of any substance in the last few days.

I clicked a few cuts, but mostly skipped the comment threads, except for a couple that seemed urgent from closer friends.

"My pants are bankrupt" is my new favorite phrase. Also, icon love ^_^

It comes from the acronym for a very long phrase about having been away for a while and unable to catch up so please point me to anything really important -- [livejournal.com profile] gnomi may have been the originator, and certainly knows the full thing.

The acronym was unpronounceable but made people WANT to pronounce it "Bankrupt My Pants!" to translate as "Please point me to the important stuff." So "my pants are bankrupt" means "I've been away and not following LJ and have missed your pearls of wisdom."

Ah, Boston geek culture!
